What are they trying to experiment with those children!! They are best walked alone to school :) as startled guinea pigs (children) will "stampede", running in haphazard directions!! ;)
I know, my children hated school buses, they preferred walking to school, but such things are possible only if one lives near to school, for others it is really sad. Nice Haiku.
Well where I live...I see about 10 school buses halting outside the society...very decent and well managed... lucky children..wish if the same standards could be forced everywhere...
A nice haiku which brings forth an issue which needs attention..
absolutely! there was an order issued in the city where I live, about the limit to the no of kids they can carry...and u know what they did? the cab drivers went on a strike to protest that and status quo remains.
an unfortunate situation aptly described
ReplyDeleteYes Sarala it is really pitiable.

ReplyDeleteYes Rama children hate to go by their school bus.
DeleteNicely penned Ushaji, its a pity that the fun ride to school is turned into a horrible experience...
ReplyDeleteThanks Reshma. There are many children who enjoy the journey. But they are the 'dadagiri' type..
DeleteI remember riding the bus! Great haiku =)
ReplyDeleteThank you Mlm'
DeleteVery well captured. This experience is true for most kids.
ReplyDeleteYes Shilpa it is true. I have seen how the children are 'packed' inside in some school buses.
DeleteYep! That's the way it was!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wabisabi. So you remembered your school days!!
DeleteUsha, your haiku gave me an amusing mental image of guinea pigs in a school bus driven by a guinea pig bus driver. :)
ReplyDeleteClaudia

ReplyDeleteThanks Princess. The people must unite and raise their voice against this practice.
DeleteSquashed on public transport....an accident waiting to happen.
ReplyDeleteYes Rallentanda. It is very sad.
DeleteI have seen those....And I dont understand why parents continue to send them like that!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jaisree. It is unfortunate that people dont revolt.
ReplyDeleteGuinea pigs or sardines?
ReplyDeleteI also thought of sardines.
DeleteSay what you want, it made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteThe memories of squeezing in with friends in the school bus was fun. In winters, that is.
In summers, well, it was another story.
Welcome Vaishali. I am glad that the haiku made you smile.
DeleteTrue.School buses are kilns that steam and sqeeze the diminutives.Nice haiku.
