                                                     Some days  back we had some guests at home. There were three ladies. I offered them a cup of coffee. One of the ladies, Mrs. Chopra said, "Coffee is very harmful for health. I never take coffee. We don't even  keep coffee at home."I was quite surprised at her statement. I took them to the kitchen. I took two firm carrots, two eggs and some coffee beans. I boiled the carrots, eggs, and coffee beans for ten minutes  each. The firm carrots lost their firmness and became soft. The eggs, which were in liquid form turned  hard. Now we saw the coffee seeds. They had not changed in texture, but the water in which they were boiled, changed color and  emitted a mild aroma. I told Mrs. Chopra that coffee beans left a soothing flavor and they did not change in texture or shape, whereas the carrots and eggs  changed under the influence of boiling water. 
                                                   Now I made Mrs.Chopra understand that coffee is not at all harmful, but in fact coffee is good health.Today is World  Coffee Day. There are many  advantages of drinking coffee.It is believed that coffee is one of the best sources of  anti-oxidants in the world. It is advised that if coffee is  taken in moderate limits, it  is good for health.The following benefits are confirmed by medical researchers..
1. A  moderate level of drinking coffee is beneficial for health.It is rumoured that coffee increases blood sugar level and raises blood pressure. This has been tested and found that it is incorrect. Infact, three or four cups of coffee  are good for the body.
2.Drinking coffee prevents the possibility of different types of cancer like prostate, 
3.Drinking coffee helps to keep the brain active. The risk of Alzheimer's disease is controlled
4.Coffee has a mild sedative. It helps a person to have sound sleep.
5.It is good for the skin.
6. Coffee helps in keeping the muscles strong.
  You must ensure that you have to take coffee within limits. It should  not be given to growing children. Let them enjoy the benefits of drinking ciofee when they grow up.

  3. Oh I don't really like coffee or tea...once in a while I have them..tea I have only to dip biscuits and enjoy the biscuits :D

  4. Elders in my family make the traditional filter coffee and my friends who drop home, love this and insist on filter coffee during their visits. Personally, i hate coffee and its smell. Even if i drink, i ensure i gargle my mouth.

  6. Interesting post Usha! I love how you boiled the carrots, eggs, and coffee.
