transition from young to old!

Some days back some friends came to visit us. I was working on my laptop. Their teen aged  daughter was accompaying them. She came and stood   by my side. She stood their for some and abrutly asked,'What are you doing,Aunty?'I told her that I was writing a blog. She kept watching me. Suddenly she  shot a question;'How old are you Aunty".I told her that , I was seventy nine. She was flabbergasted. She  ran to her mother and announced  excitedly 'Mom, see Ramita's  grand mother. She is seventy nine and is  writing blog. The lady scolded her,"How many times I have told you that you must not ask someones age?The mother also was shocked  As soon as I entered the room, she remarked," I have never met a lady of your age who is so technically  savvy .".Every one laughed.  I remember that every one laughed at her
   statement.

                                                                     My  photos then and now.

This made me think. '"Can't old people work on a computer? Can't they pursue their hobbies?   I was alwaye fond of writng. Whatever be the language.English, Hindi or Gurmukhi  (Punjabi) I always used to be passionate about writing.Actually age is only a number. I  have felt that there is no  difference in my   line of thoughts With growing age changes may take place in the physical body, but the person is the same, with the same blood flowing inside the veins. I believe that nothing has changed  within my body. The same  crazy feeling  for cooking, watching TV, meeting  old friends, a liking for partying, the love for movies and  (you will laugh) , exchanging gifts ,talking endlessly on the phone and to top it all  writing ,writing and WRITING BLOGS.

  1. I agree wholeheartedly with you. Age makes no difference to one's interests. :)

  5. I agree Usha ji..Age is actually made such a huge factor , more so in our country..The moment a woman is 30 she is old and that is apparently the end of everything..I think life is all about living the way we want and not about age !

  10. As you say Usha, age is only a number. I think it's awesome that you write a blog at your age AND that you are techy savvy! :) Maybe you can teach me a thing or two as I'm not! ;) <3.
