Yesterday I happened to come across quotations by Mark Twain. His words are so simple, but they have so much depth hidden in them. Another thing which appealed to me is they are true for all times. So here we go
1. Worrying is like paying a debt you don't owe.
2.You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.
3. Don't part with\ your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, you have ceased.
4 Get your facts first. Then you can distort them as much as you can.
5.Don't go around saying that the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.
6. Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.
7. It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.
8. The secret of getting ahead is getting started.
9. It is not the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the do.
10.Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
11.The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.
12. A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.
13. Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.
14.Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal.
15.The man who does not read has no advantage
over the man who cannot read.
17 Keep away from people who try to belittle your
ambitions. Small people always do that, but the
really great make you feel that you, too, can become
great.
18. In a good bookroom you feel in some mysterious
way that you are absorbing the wisdom contained
in all the books through your skin, without even
opening them.
19,Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because
Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth is'nt.
20. Wrinkles should merely indicate where the
smiles have been.
