Bright red carnations.
A symbol of love and admiration,
fragrance long lasting.
White carnations
in the large, wide cemetry
remind of beloved.
Adorning my table,
a bouquet of pink carnations,
fragrance at home.

Of all the colors, the red carnation is my favorite. Your tribute to it is right on the mark.

ReplyDeleteA house is not a home without fresh flowers. Lovely Usha !
ReplyDeleteNice haiku series Usha. Though carnations are my birth month flower, I much prefer tulips - yellow scented ones - or gerberas, preferably bright orange or yellow. And by the way, I didn't think carnations had much fragrance at all! ;)
