There was a time when speaking to some one within the country was a difficult task. If there was some urgency or a good news to be conveyed, we used to send telegrams. At that time we used to feel that a telegram was a wonder of science, which could convey our messages in ess than twenty four hours. After some years trunk calls were introduced. Initially, trunk call was so costly that a common man could not afford it. Only the rich could take the benefit of trunk calls.
Talking to friends/relatives settled abroad was only a dream. But this dream was also fulfilled . International calls became affordable. But it was quite time consuming. The call had to be booked through the telephone exchange. Some times it used to take hours waiting for a tinkle from the telephone exchange.
Then came information Technology with a bang. Through the Internet we can be in touch with our near and dear ones instantly. Besides the traditional telephone there is Skype, Viber ,Whatsapp and many more through which, we can talk as long as we want, without any patment. The world is indeed a small place!!
