The world is a big stage on which we all perform. The actors and actresses keep changing, but those who come as replacement have the same screen play, same dialogues, and same sets.
A child is born. Every one, whether friends or relatives congratulate the parents. Generally the words are similar, like,"Very sweet, He/she resembles the father/mother", and so on. The friends of the parents are generally of the same age group. After a few years of the child's birth the conversation revolves round admission of the child. "In which school/schools have you registered? When is the interview? Do you know somebody in the Education Department?" etc
The child has passed out from school. Now have a look at the topic of discussions/ conversations. Is the child appearing for IIT/Medical/ Engineering Exam? Where has the child got admission? How many years' course? If the child has gone abroad for higher studies his/ her status increases.
The next stage is ,which profession has he/she taken up? What is the salary ? Now arises the issue of marriage. How is the boy/ girl. The questions put to you are," How is the daughter in law? "or "Has she adjusted well in the family?" You are now termed as "old". The day of your retirement has come. Now you are an 'unpaid' servant. "Papa, get vegetables and fruits. Papa leave the baby at her school/ school bus. Papa, why are you sleeping the whole day? Help the children in their home work". The only time you can relax is the evening, when you meet your friends/colleagues in the park.
In the park among friends the type of statements/ questions are," Mehra has got severe pain in his knees, Nair got knee replacement. Aggarwal has high blood pressure. Bhagat Ram has to put a stent in his heart."
After a lapse of few months, the talks are ,"Mehta passed away this morning. A prayer meeting is being held at four p.m. on the demise of Shukla ji."The cycle of life goes on, without a stop. Those who follow will follow the same routine and same questions. Life will go on. "Time and tide wait for none"
