BELIEF IN
GOOD LIFE
Believe me, when I say that everyone believes in good
life. A person may ask what is good
life. Someone may say who does not like good life. By good life I do not mean a life of luxury
or a life of plenty. Good life as I
understand is a life of seeking internal
happiness, peace of mind faith in God
and solidarity.
Many people are of the opinion that only money can make a person happy. Their argument is that only if a person has sufficient money, he can live a life of contentment. Everyone has read the story of King Midas and his craze for gold. His wish ,that whatever he touched, may turn into gold, was the cause of his downfall. We must understand that a life of luxury is short lived and the person has no peace of mind. On the other hand faith in god, respect for parents always leads to success.
I remember a story of two brothers. Radhe Shyam and Sita Ram were exactly opposite in nature. Their parents were leaving on a religious trip. Both the brothers went to see them off at the station. When the train was about to leave, the elder one Radhe Shyam entered the compartment and touched the feet of his parents and took their blessings. The younger one, Sita Ram, kept standing on the platform, with chewing gum in his mouth and hands tucked in his pant pocket. After the train started the father seemed very upset. His wife asked him the reason. He said he was worried about the younger son. The mother consoled him stating that he would become responsible in due course.
Only those persons who are hard working, sincere, well behaved, steadfast, god fearing , respectful to their
parents, believe in themselves, lead a
good life.
The belief and respect of Radhe Shyam for his parents proved to be correct.

ReplyDeleteMoney certainly isn't the end all and be all in life. Inner happiness, peace, contentment, and other such qualities some of which you mention do lead to long-term peace and happiness. :) <3
