zest for books

ZEST FOR BOOKS
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of  counsellors, and the most patient of teachers.”
 Charles William Eliot

According to the Dictionary the meaning of the word ‘zest’ is zeal or enthusiasm for something. You can be enthusiastic  about new recipes or good food. Some people  have a zest  sports activities. I have a zest for books. This zest is not limited to any particular type of books. I can read any kind of books , whether a fiction, autobiographies, or mythology. The  books which I can read any number of times without getting bored are classics. The old world charm of these books is  really endearing. Rebecca, Jane Iyer, and Pride and  and Prejudice. These days I am reading Chetan Bhagat’s  ‘’Two States’’. I have read it earlier, but  can never get tired of reading it. My books are my greatest  asset which I have collected over the years.
You  can even read a book or even purchase them online. Books are a person’s best friend. They provide you knowledge of every thing on earth. Books are your best friends. What ever may be your mood, the books that you read  have the capacity to boost your spirit. Some characters are so lovable, you feel like meeting them again again.

I remember the words of Francis Bacon “Some books should be tasted, some devoured, but only a few should be chewed and digested thoroughly.”
 Francis Bacon

They don't talk back, allow me to be, give me space, etc. ;) Love the quote by Francis Bacon too.
