A rich lady went to a psychiatrist to know the secret of happiness. Inside another woman was relating her experience. She said,
"After my husband died I was always sad.One day when I was entering my house, I saw a puppy sitting near my gate. It was whining. I carried him, gave him milk and covered him with a blanket. The pup started tugging at my feet to show its gratitude.
Now I knew how to remain happy.
Next day I baked a cake for a poor beggar. The tears in his eyes said it all".
Riches don't bring happiness; it depends on how others can be happy because of you.

Such a heart touching post, Ma'am. What a lovely start to UBC!
ReplyDeleteThank you Aathira.Wealth may bring material comforts, but it cannot bring inner happiness.
DeleteMrs Usha Menon, I wonder - well let me rephrase what I wanted to mention here. I hope that at least some folks would introspect after reading your post.
ReplyDeleteI was discussing the other day about a close relative of mine whose overnight abundance of wealth blinded him and his hideous wife that he had the audacity to tell the person , responsible for what he is today that she is a negative force.
They do not seem to be the kind who would cease the appetite and greed for more and more.
Yes Anil, there are a whole lot of people who madly collect wealth. What will they do with it? They cannot carry all the wealth with them when they say good bye .
DeleteThat's a thought provoking one. True, money cannot buy and guarantee happiness.
ReplyDeleteYes Shilpa . Still people are crazy and filling their lockers. Every thing will be left here when they quit.
DeleteUsha ma'am, completely agree with you. Most things that make us truly happy cannot be bought by money. And those joys that money can buy us are temporary and incomplete if we are unable to share them with people.
ReplyDeleteVinodini,You have rightly said that money can buy things which are temporary.
