An interview with your favourite author.

Out of  innumerable books that I've read, I was fascinated by Jane Austen. In a BBC poll in 2002, Jane was placed at number seventy among the most popular  authors. Recently in my dream I met Jane  and had a  tete- te with her. I asked her why did she emphasise on the subject of matchmaking of girls.  She replied that in the eighteenth century  girls were making a mark in the society, and wanted to settle down peacefully with a husband of their choice. Her novels, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and  Sense and Sensibility  are  based on this issue.

  7. I read her book Pride and Prejudice recently and was astonished with the writing. She brings characters to life and makes us feel as if they are walking and talking right before us! No wonder her novels are still popular.

  8. Absolutely.
Victorian age writers of her generation had a certain romanticism about their writing even if many themes where on the hardships of life

  9. Love ur take Usha Ma'am on Jane Austen, the flawless literary prose, idealistic view of the triumph of women and underlying romance. Her name itself made us rush to lap her books..love Pride and Prejudice loads:)
